MR of Nonhemorrhagic Postpartum Pituitary Apoplexy AJNR 16:1939-1941, Lavalle,G.,et al, 1995 See this aricle in Pubmed Article Abstract A 30-year-old woman had uterine bleeding and hypotension after delivery. Hyponatremic seizures and a mild headache prompted early neuroimaging, which disclosed an enlarged nonhemorrhagic pituitary gland with subsequent involution consistent with pituitary apoplexy(Sheehan syndrome). Endocrinologic investigation confirmed a partial pituitary insufficiency with subsequent improvement to almost normal status.
